Pumpkin - We Be Little

Pumpkin - We Be Little

Minimum Seed Count: 10

The We Be Little pumpkin is a charming miniature variety known for its perfectly round shape, deep orange skin, and classic ribbing — like a tiny version of a traditional jack-o’-lantern. Each fruit typically weighs about ½ to 1 pound and measures around 3 to 4 inches across, making it ideal for fall décor, table displays, and even personal-sized pies. Despite its small size, the flesh is firm, smooth, and pleasantly sweet, making it edible as well as ornamental. Its compact vines are vigorous but manageable, making this variety a favorite for small gardens or container growing.

Planting Guide:

  • Seed Starting: Start seeds indoors 2–3 weeks before your last expected frost, or sow directly outdoors once the soil has warmed to 70°F (21°C).

  • Planting Depth: Sow seeds 1 inch deep.

  • Spacing: Space plants about 2–3 feet apart in rows 4–6 feet apart, or give each plant a few feet of room in a mound or hill.

  • Sunlight: Full sun (at least 6–8 hours daily).

  • Soil: Rich, well-draining soil with plenty of compost or aged manure.

  • Watering: Keep soil evenly moist, especially during flowering and fruit set. Avoid overhead watering to prevent mildew.

  • Days to Maturity: About 90–100 days from direct sowing.

  • Harvesting: Harvest when pumpkins are a deep orange and the rinds are firm. Cut from the vine with several inches of stem attached to extend storage life.
